3 Simple 2025 Christmas Trends

This year, rather than the late ‘minimalist Christmas’ style we’ve all come to love, the décor world is leaning into a richer, more layered ‘more-is-more’ holiday look-and it’s safe to say were completely smitten. In this blog, we’ll be diving into three of the standout décor trends shaping 2025 and exploring how you can bring them into your own home.

  1. What better way to begin than with the trend that has taken over this holiday season: the Ralph Lauren Christmas. Lets start by talking about the color palette. Unlike modern beige, we are seeing rich, deep tones like burgundy, hunter green, navy, chocolate brown and even black! These colors work beautifully in ornaments, wrapping paper, table cloths and runners, throw blankets and pillows. Natural materials-such as dark wood accents, glass and traditional brass- help elevate the look while steering clear of anything too flashy or overly sparkly. Another simple way to embrace the Ralph Lauren Christmas aesthetic is by adding plaid, especially classic black watch plaid! You can easily bring it into your home through cozy throw blankets draped over arm chairs, or accent pillows layered on the sofa. Table décor plays a big role and by adding plaid table cloths or runners, napkins or even bows tied around taper candles or added into garlands and wreaths can make all the difference. While this is a rich trend, we do want to make sure that we don’t jam pack the whole house with velvet, plaid and dark tones, but keep a keen eye on the simple details, maintaining the timeless and elegant look that plays a big role in the whole picture of a Ralph Lauren Christmas!
  • 2) Monochromatic gift wrapping! What is it? Monochromatic gift wrapping is the art of wrapping gifts using different textured materials while staying within in the same color family to create a curated, cohesive and elegant look. For example, you could choose a matte hunter-green wrapping paper and finish it with a silk emerald-green bow. This mixes textures beautifully while still looking sophisticated and refined.

Feel free to play with different materials- matte or glossy paper, velvet or satin ribbon- and elevate the look even more with small accents such as a cinnamon stick, a pine sprig with some berries, or a little bell to add texture (and even a hint of scent!). One thing to keep in mind: wrap gifts in boxes! We’re ditching gift bags as they simply don’t achieve the same effect.

  • 3) BOWS, BOWS, BOWS! What better way to bring nostalgic charm and modern versatility into your home than with simple ribbon? With just one touch, you can elevate any holiday aesthetic- and this year, bows are making a major comeback!

When it comes to decorating, there are so many fun ways to ideas to incorporate them into your décor: add them to wreaths, candlesticks, vases, and even the Christmas tree itself! Depending on the look you’re going for, choose thicker ribbon or oversized bows for a luxurious maximalist feel, or opt for thinner ribbon- velvet always a beautiful choice- for a softer, more nostalgic touch.
